It was years since the passing of my last rescue dog and it seemed that 2020 would be the perfect time to find another companion. I contacted numerous shelters It seemed as if every dog had found a home in March 2020! I even drove to Thousand Oaks with the hopes of adopting a poodle mix but to no avail. She found a new family as I was en route.
After almost giving up, I saw a gorgeous puppy on Facebook that had moved in with a fellow artist. I immediately asked where they had found the dog! I heard back very quickly that it was a local breeder, but there were no more pups to adopt. I still asked for the number that evening and went to bed dreaming of an English Wire Fox Terrier. Very early the next morning I asked if there were any more puppies who needed a good safe home. I was interviewed and asked all the right questions, why did I want a terrier etc. I explained that the best dog l had ever had was an Irish Terrier that I adopted in the late 80’s and had lived with me for 13 years. I also mentioned that I’d already picked out a name, Milo. There was a long pause and then to my delight she said “Well you’d better come and meet him, because he’s sitting right next to me, and I think you are his Mum!” That’s right, she had already named him Milo. We both found one another and that’s the story of my Mischievous Magnificent Milo. It was just meant to be.
