Mandalas/Photographic Assemblages

As I take my daily walks in California with my dog Milo and I come upon many Flora, Seaweeds, Pods and an assortment of patterns in nature that inspire me to build Mandalas/Photographic Assemblages. Referencing Rhodophyta (red), Phaeophyta (brown), and Clorophyta (green) Seaweeds.  I know first hand here in California and the Santa Barbara Channel Islands, Seaweed provides food and habitat for our marine species, cleans our coastal waters by removing excess nutrients from runoff, and absorbs carbon dioxide from our waters which protects shelled animals and ocean acidification and most importantly about 70% of the worlds oxygen is produced by sea species including phytoplankton, kelp and algal plankton. In comparison rainforests make up to 28% of oxygen production, it’s one of the many reasons to take good care of our oceans and keep them healthy.
